LED Filament Lamps of the ED Series as replacements for banned HQL, NAV and HQI lamps
HQL lamps have been banned from the market since 2015, NAV models since 2023/2025 — and the remaining HQI exemptions expire in 2027. The ED series offers four sizes from ED54 to ED120 at 15 to 85 W, matching the shape and dimensions of the banned originals. Simply install into the existing luminaire — no new luminaire purchase, no modification of the mounting. Up to 190 lm/W luminous efficacy, IP65 ingress protection and 50,000 hours lifespan (L80 B10).

Fits into your existing HQL/NAV/HQI luminaires
The ED shapes (ED54, ED75, ED90, ED120) replicate the common bulb forms of the original HQL, NAV and HQI lamps. Shape, diameter and length match, so the LED lamp fits into the existing luminaire and behind the existing protective glass. Important: The old ballast, ignitor and compensation capacitor must be removed and the socket connected directly to the mains — this rewiring must be carried out by a qualified electrician. The glass is available in clear or coated versions.

/ Installation
Replacement in a few steps
The LED filament lamps of the ED series replace banned HQL, NAV and HQI lamps directly in the existing luminaire. The identical ED shape fits into the existing socket and behind the protective glass. The rewiring (removal of ballast/ignitor) must be carried out by a qualified electrician.

Disconnect the power supply. Remove the old HQL/NAV/HQI lamp from the socket.

Have a qualified electrician remove the ballast, ignitor and compensation capacitor, and connect the socket directly to the mains (120–277 V).

Insert the appropriate ED series lamp (ED54 to ED120) into the existing socket and restore the power supply.
